Simple set up in home made lightbox, with black paper as a BG, small piece, about an inch, of incense mounted with piece of clay behind this really tiny engine , two small strobes, 5D, tripod, and cable release.
Taken several years a go, don't really remember to many details, except for difficulties to keep the air still and all sort of try and error to cause interesting swirls in the air.

It's a worm... a sexy sexy worm.  Canon XS, f/2.2, 1/50 of second shutter speed, and then I added some film grain and made it b&w in post.

One of my favourites from when I used to own this lens.  Admittedly it's a bit of a novice shot as a bulk of the picture is out-of-focus, but for some reason I find the sharpness in the eye still grabs me.

Shot this at a car meet the other day, 50mm 1.8 on a Canon 50d. Love this little lens, gotta be the best VFM out there!

This little lens should be the 1st lens purchased along with the DSLR kit. IMHO, it offers the best image quality/$ value. Cheap plastic build, loud & slow AF, 5-blade bokeh noted by others have NOT affected me much.

I like my 50mm F1.8 mostly because I can't afford to replace it yet. For the moment it gets me some pretty decent photos.
