5d3 and 1dx preorders

Just added a 5d3 and a wireless trans to my 1dx preorder from Steve in the pro dept in teds Melb.

Excited for new kit. Their list price for the 5d3 is 4200 for some reason but they said it won't be released at that.

I went to preorder from bh but with customs and postage that added 450 to it so it wouldnt be a big saving.

Hopefully I book a job os around the release!

Don't go to jb, they'll rip you off. $4500+ for body only. $5000+ for a kit with the 24-105mm. And $6000+ for a "premium" kit, which they couldnt tell me what it was. Harvey norman is similar.

Premium kit would have a 24-70 f2.8II i guess.

at those prices i'd buy a kit and sell the lens.

I will find out when hopefully i get my preorder tomorrow.

the 5dmkiii is available online and instore, according to ted's website. i might be tempted to go to the city store and check it out after uni. $3999.95 body only

still 3599 at leederville +199 extra for another 2 years of canon warranty they said their next shipment was coming in early april

Anyone want to take a punt on how many months (or years?) it will take canon Australia to lower the price of the 5dmkiii? E.g it was a fair while before the 70-200mkii's price dipped....then rose again
