My hands on the 5d mrk iii experiance
« on: March 12, 2012, 12:31:14 AM »
Hello...

Just had a quick hands on with the Canon 5d mrk3  (about 2mins to look over it)

Here are the few images I took

The first image was in manual mode,, the others in the fully automatic mode

Sorry for the bad quality, these are just point and shoot

Lense was the newer 28-70mm

The layout of the camera is the same, though it felt different.
I say different as they have done something to the paint finish that made it feel different.
I would hate to say the build quality was less than the 5d mrk1 and 5d mrk 2, which I both own..
You'll see when you get one..

Then the actual functions of the buttons are in different places.
Such as the zoom of the shot you have just taken operates in a different way.
To zoom you have to press the magnify button located to the left of the display screen, but the function of the zoom is controlled by the dial wheel next to the shoot button.
Maybe this is a default setting ?

The Focus is better than the older models,, was fast and didn't have focusing.
When looking through the view finder, very pleasent to see an array of focus points.

As I said,, I had a limited time with the camera,
Will be getting it,  to add to my collection..

What are you focused on in the large one you linked to (http://www.skyscraperlist.com/admindocs/243A9930.JPG)?

That picture is throwing me. Looks almost like pastel, but at ISO160 why so much NR?

that is a very clever and unique photographic idea!! lol.....   ;)

but not really helpfull for us poor fellows who have to look at shaky and out of focus images.
i mean.... it´s hard to judge anything from blurry and out of focus images.

Looks like the air vent center right on the ceiling is the most in focus.  ;)

Looks to me like a lot of undeserving chumps, grumps, snobs, and brats on these forums. Thank you OP for sharing your limited experience. As such, no one except myself appreciates it.

and for those out of focus images, at least the shadows look nice and subtle. You don't need in focus shadows to see noise/banding. Of course, the experts on here (all of them who make their lavish earnings posting rude comments on Canon Rumors) will disagree and quote me to hell and back. Sad lives, you people have.

Is there a newer 28-70? I thought Canon only ever released one version?

Come on people! You are bad. The guy wanted do something special and share but you just smite with no reason.
I think this post is sweet and +1 from me.

It's not true that the picture is out of focus. A part of ceiling and floor is quite in focus and regarding that this is almost in corner I'd say, that the lens is quite good.

well yes something is always in focus.   ;)

i don´t say his posting is useless... never have. i appreciate what he wrote.
but some images have, in my opinion, not much worth as example images.

i would just not have posted them.

and i don´t have a kind of "double moral".... i think some images at the canon website suck too. and i wrote that. so why should i close my eyes here in this thread?

Whew, had me worried that they totally screwed up the AF system.

Thanks for posting.
