Nothing beats this lens for storms on a Canon crop.  In the past I always had to drive a couple more miles with the 17-40 if I wanted to get the whole storm in.

Lightning flashing as the shot started flashed the truck body.

One of the best qualities of the lens is you can point it at light sources and just not get flares.  Best flare resistant thing I've shot.

Also great for atmospheric optics.

Love the lightning shot!   That's awesome!

The tornado's a tad bit close for me though....  :o

This is the next lens on my list, I have the option to buy one which is almost brand new (boxed etc) for a great price, after looking at these photo’s I really am looking forward to getting it.  Extremeinstability; your photos are epic!
Thank you CR members for yet another excellent thread.................to cost me a small fortune  ;D

A great lens indeed. I liked the 10-22 on crop better then I like the 16-35 2.8 II on FF.

Here an oldie (2007) taken from a driving car in the Serengeti. EOS 30D, EF-S 10-22 @12mm, ISO 200, 1/640, f/9

And another oldie (2010) from Yellowstone (I believe it was Mammoth Hot Springs). EOS 30D, EF-S 10-22 @10mm, ISO 100, 1/250, f/8

I continue to use this lens on my 6D and 5D111, but with caution. One can not go any wider than 13mm or there is a potential for the mirror to hit the real lens element. To make it work, you only need to remove the black plastic piece around the rear element. You will get some vignetting at 13mm, but for the price of this lens, you can't get close with full frame lens!

Hmmm, I didn't even know it was possible to attach an EF-S lens to a FF body.

Great ads for this lens!  Anybody can have my excellent example if you can meet me in person in ATL:)

PM for details :)  I don't want to break a forum rule by linking to the ad I created last night.

If this is a violation, feel free to nuke it, I won't be offended:)
