Any news on the 1D X?!

I attended a Canon information night yesterday & was told, (in fact it was displayed on the video presentation), that the release date would be no earlier than May the 15th. 

I certainly hope this is not true...

me too!   I am hoping for an end of April shipment!  Hell we have been waiting since October 2011!  Enought already!

If this is true, it's a good thing interest rates are low as B&H will have had your $7000 for two months with nothing to show for it for you!

While I'm waiting until May to pull the trigger on the 1D X, I'm still disappointed to hear this as that'll just push my order even further down the road.  Although foolishly, I initially did say as long as I had one by September, I'd be happy.    But a guy can change his mind right? 

Not to mention all this 5D III stir going on, has me just itching for news and RAWs of the 1D X.

Hoping to use it it for the Airshow season this summer now it looks like I might be lucky to get one by then.. 

But I thought they had officially announced it would be available end of april? Well they did in the UK anyways take a look,,

No, Perth Western Australia but I would assume that we would get it on release.  Perhaps because we are a fairly small market we won't get it day one. 

The rep had only just spoken to the big wigs in Japan & that date is what she was told.

I went yesterday to the shop where I preordered my camera and they said that release date is still last week of April. I hope it stays like that.

Canon hav still not said anything official about a 1d x delay , let's cross fingers.. CR2 on June, but nothing confirmed. I'm hoping for April-May for us normal customers.
