I'm at work with a crappy laptop, no calibrated screen, but that iso8000 shot looks amazing noise-wise (like the blacks in the corner), better than my 7D @ iso1600.

If that's just a camera-jpg, what settings for high-iso and/or long-exposure Noise Reduction did you have?

Photo was taken in RAW and then i converted it to JPG using the built-in function of the camera as I'm at work too without DPP to convert it. The High ISO NR is set to "standard" which is the default setting of the camera. The image has had nothing done to it on a computer.

Yea i agree, having jumped from the 7D too, if you put that jpg through a little bit of post processing it will turn out absolutely amazing and the 7D has nothing on it at all!
