Here is another photo from a wedding at the reception this is 6400 iso i process in lightroom and this has no post noise reduction,6400 IMO is very useable

How about some ISO 25,600 shots? no post NR. the second is not actually noise but a selective focus effect.

Here's a few crazy high ISO shots, the one with the couple is at 12,800, the one with the group is ISO 20,000...both at night, neither with flash....Seeing how well the mk3 handles high ISO and low light is making me rethink my whole approach to shooting.

A couple of test shots at ISO 3200, reduced in size, There was a fair bit of wind, so they aren't quite as sharp as they could be. I think ISO 6400 will probably be ok for macro, but I need a windless day to be sure. The second one is actually ISO 6400. ISO 12,800 is definitely too high for macro though.

Well, i just got my 3,099$ mk3 from evil bay. Shot some High ISo B&W's to see the cameras limits and was just blown away. Usable 51,200 ISO compared to 6400 on the 7D! Just shocked. 

Good enough for a 4x6 print and thats fine for ISO 51,200!

handheld...shot this using the live view zoomed in...the wind died down just enough to get the shot.

Sorry..my bad.  I removed the image.  I thought the image was from my canon 5d3, I just wasn't paying attention to the exif.

My 5d3 battery died late in the day and I grabbed my nikon d7k backup out of the bag to get these shots of the dragonfly.  I had shot everything that day w/ the 5d3 70-200, except these dragonfly shots so I just forgot.

Also...I haven't had my coffee yet this morning...brain fog.
