On the High ISO, my experience was that on the 5DMK III 1600 ISO was about where I felt Maximum IQ/Grain was achieved, anything Higher and the Grain was starting to impact too much on IQ.

With the 1Dx I found I could push to ISO 5000 to achieve a similar result, at night the brighter viewfinder on the 1Dx was a big advantage.

But most of my 70-200f/2.8 II work was done on the 5DMK iII, these two seem made for each other.

White Rhino: 5DMK III 70-200f/2.8 II, Shot @ f/4 & 1/5000th ISO250

Bad Boy: 5DMK III 70-200f/2.8, Shot @ f/8 & 1/200th ISO1600 + 600EX RT (Set at -3 & 200mm)

I love your rhino shot! B&W makes all the difference from my perspective. No confusion. All one sees is the rhino in this pic (and the baby  :) ) . If it were in colour there would be brown, green, blue and some white and the eye would wander...

Having said that, I am a fan of all of your shots. They are great!

Couple of Shots from Japan January 2013.

Snow Monkeys Nagano: 5DMK III 135f/2, Shot @ f/5.6 & 1/320th ISO1000

Another great Combo, 5DMK III + 135f/2, what a great Lens, never gets Old this Lens.

Hi RPT, extremely kind of you, and I enjoy your own Images as well.

Agree on the B&W as well, Rhinos, Elephants, Africa in General just looks that much better when done in B&W, as do a lot of other Images, I use NIK's Silver Effex Pro 2 to do the Conversion, find it gives you more control over the effect of the B&W compared to Photoshop CS6, which is good of course, but the "Control Point" tech in Silver Effex works well.

Filter Forge is a Layers type Software Programme that I use sometimes for backgrounds/Effects, similar to an earlier post of mine "Bhuda Kyoto", I thought you may have used FF, but similar effects are workable in other Programmes, either way, I like what you've done with the Image.

5DMK III 200f/2 L, Shot @ f11 & 1/250th ISO800

Kyoto Japan January 2013.
An example (Not necessarily a good one) of Filter Forge 3, used FF3 as part of a series of "effects" in LR4/Photoshop, to try & give a split B&W/Colour/Sketched look, doesn't always work, which is why I don't use it too much, but there's some great "artists" out there that do make it look good, I'm just not one of them, but good fun just the same on a rainy day keeps you occupied.

Oh, sorry...I did not know what Filter Forge was, no..these are two straight shots put together. Used  PS and Nik suite.
Didn't get too fancy...put them together and added some shadows.
