No ND filters, they are all single RAW files, just pushed and pulled around within lightroom (lots of gradient filters)

Gradient filters and the adjustment brush come in handy for sure.

Nice images!  I like the Horseshoe Crab and #3 the best!  And yes, nice job in PP with the foreground and tones in #4   :D

A little bit of story telling in a sequence.

Very Good! Takes more to tell a story ;)
Thanks, I went for a short story instead of a novel :P.
Richard, I love the way the background of clouds look in #2.   I find that I resist trying to capture the images anymore of the birds as they fly away, lord knows I have thousands of images of bird butts!  In this instance, it's quite appropriate though, as it helps the story unfold... Nice image! ;)

Love that third image Richard!  That's exactly why we miss so many shots, we don't see have of them, with their fine, built in camouflage!

Thanks Ken, I also avoid AEV shots usually too, but it was the only way to get this one and the head of the gull is also visible, unusually, because it is looking down. After I processed these, I found a fourth image in between the water shot and the shot of it dropping the crab onto the beach to crack it open, where it is walking up the beach with it in its mouth.

Thanks Ken, that one is actually taken using a flash at around 11.00pm. Trying to hold a gripped camera in one hand and a flash in the other is quite challenging after a few attempts.

Hi Richard, I mentioned previously having some DIF (Dragonfly in flight) images, here's one... I couldn't remember where I filed them!  I've recently moved and don't have my external drives set up yet, so some images I've put on my internal HD, totally forgotten!

Anyway, I'll post others as I get a chance!

This is right after getting my 100-400mm back from Canon, very pleased with the results from Canon.  I had to set my MFA settings back to zero!  That was surprising...

anyway:
5D MkIII
EF 100-400mm
1/1600th s
ISO 800
f/5.6
