Just spoke to a CR at B&H, I asked how many do they have in stock. He replied that his computer doesn't say how much but does say "3+ units" meaning there are 3 or more units in stock.

He also said that the B&H website is totally live meaning if it says "In-Stock" it really means in-stock! (unlike some of the stories we've heard lately)

Yeah they definitely received more kits than preorders they had. My kit order was in 57xxx and got shipped today.

awesome tip!  I decided that I can make use of the kit lens, and called to change my order.
Order Status:    In stock, order sent to warehouse

that's way better than the Status : Backordered that I have been moaning about all morning (order # 591xx, placed at 9am mst aka WAY TOO LATE)

Will cancel Amazon now, went from April 5-9 to April 2 to nothing and nothing still.    Lesson learned.

Yep, just called (2:45pm CDT) and ordered the 5d Mark III kit from B&H, next day shipping with tracking number, will be here tomorrow.

Great so the kit is in stock but my March2nd order of the body is still backordered?  wtf>?  why penalize people because they already bought the 24-105?

It appears the problem is with Canon and not B&H (or the other retailers).  Apparently Canon shipped many more kits than bodies only in this first found...more than likely to try and push the 24-105 to the early adopters.  More body only shipments will appear next week.

How do you get free next day shipping?  When I went to the cart next day to San Diego was over $90.  I'm afraid to change my order from Amazon because I have $4 next day shipping from Amazon with prime.
