National Zoo with the 5D Mk III
« on: April 02, 2012, 12:01:24 PM »
Shot with the older (mine has a 1999 date code) 400mm f/2.8L USM II and processed with Nik's ColorEfex Pro 4.

Also, I found the AF to be f*ing amazing and I am very happy with the sharpness (complaints I keep seeing on the forum).

Amazing photos. I wish I had a long lens like that to go to the zoo with. It's too bad most of the animals at my local zoo are always asleep

Good question. I never saw them ;-)

I've lived here for almost 4 years and this was actually my first trip to the zoo. People seemed surprised to see the cheetahs out and walking around... I guess they knew I was coming.

nice photos. I was there last winter and saw 2 guys with what looked like 800 or 600mm lenses, and a guy with a 70-200 IS v2. Then near one of the eating areas i saw 3-4 teenage girls with what appeared to be a bunch of different vintage rangefinders. Nice zoo, and again, nice shots.

I attracted a lot of comments...most common was "Look how big that camera is!"

Great shots....I'll add that in my days as a member of the Houston Zoo, I've never seen our Cheetas do anything but sleep.
