Use a different card.  Do a low level format before inserting it, and then format it in the camera.  Formatting a card in camera does not fix card issues, you need to do a low level format or erase.

Your camera is defective. Return it. If the lines are there in Live View it has nothing to do with the memory card.

I'm sorry, but you have burned your 5D sensor...

Have you shot some laser?

This seem like a defective body.  You should return it.

You may be screwed, looks like you shot video that had lasers hitting sensor. I agree with this poster I quoted

Technically that would likely not be covered I don't think.

Just as dropping the camera would not be covered.

Good to know, especially for those shooting concerts or clubs.

Here is another one.

Well, in both of those videos the line of pixels went white but this pictures shows black lines. It could be something different.

I wish Moezaby would say something. I'm worried he got depressed about losing his 5D's sensor. Let us know your ok!  ;)

I thought this was common knowledge by now.  But I guess its also just possible I troll around more DSLR video related forums than some.   Has happened plenty of times.  Sorry to hear about your sensor though, hope Canon will fix it under warranty.  If they haven't put any verbiage specifically warning against using around lasers, it should be covered.

Agree with the others, that looks like laser damage, but who knows.  Return it and see what happens.

I was not aware of that risk - does it apply only to video or also stills?
