5D3 + EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II + 2x III extender

Nice job!
That last one looks a little bit backlit, in the same situation my 7D would have blown out the background or just made the bird a mush of black. Did you use any +/- EV Comp while shooting, or recover details in PP? (or is the 5D3 metering just that good?)

I used Aperture Priority Mode, spot metering with +1/3 EV Comp and some regular PP.


If you're curious, I attached here a screen capture from DPP with only default settings.

Now that's more like the sort of shot I wanted to see. Judging by that I think I might be happy with my 300 f/2.8 with 2x and the noise control looks like what I'm looking for too. Thanks for the cropped version to see the sharpness.
