500d and a Canon 35-80 with the front element smashed with a hammer to make a macro.....
makes for a brutal but effective close-up kit, I just ran across this lens mod "recommendation" recently.

Yikes! Not the way I like to treat equipment, but I guess it can be very effective if you're on a tight budget.

Here's a few shots taken with a new, but very cheap Ixus 132:

Taken with a 500d and a M42 pentacon 50mm 1.8

that creates some very interesting bokeh in that shot, i like it

The Pentacon is an awesome lens but I needed cash to buy another lens and I sold it, I will buy another when I get back to the UK where they are nice and cheap. The makeshift macro works well sometimes and not so well othertimes but for £10 it comes in handy!

Thank you my dear friend Surapon. The old Canon stuff is good and fun to use. Here's a test shot with my FT QL and a Tokina 80-200 f/4.5 that I disassembled and cleaned (it had fungus). The Tokina 80-200 I sold after it tested OK, the FT QL I still have (two bodies in fact).

Wow wow wow dear Surapon, your collection of Canon equipment never seizes to amaze me! You have some really interesting lenses there, with built-in AF?? And your amazing C2500L, you were probably at the cutting edge of technology :) My first digital was a Canon A20 and I still have it but it's not a great camera.

At the moment the longest lens I have for the old stuff is an FL 135mm f/2.5. I had the FD 70-210 f/4 as shown in your picture, but I sold it because I decided I want only primes for my analog stuff. At the moment I'm thinking about getting a cheap FD 200mm f/4 S.S.C. Supposedly it's a good lens and besides the possibility of using it on my FT-QL's or the AE-1 Program, it may be fun too on my NEX-6 for which I have an FD adapter.

Here's some old cheap equipment I still use all the time.  All taken December 2013 with a Kodak DCS Pro SLR/C and a Vivitar "Series 1" 19 to 35 zoom.  The last one is HDR.  Proof that even at 1.5 FPS, this camera is still capable of producing a hand held bracket for HDR  :)
