file nameing

i was wondering if anyone know how to change the filename in 5dmII i recently bought 2  for my video production and  the issue is  we have  same file name  from  both camers besides renaming renaming upon inportis their a setting i can change  any help will be great

The only way to change the file numbers to a manual setting is to start with a clean formatted card then shoot a video clip (5 seconds or so), after you have done that you take your card to your computer load it up and rename the file to the number you want (keeping in mind you have to stick to their file format exactly  i.e. MVI_XXXX.mov so you would change XXXX to something like 1000 depending on what system you want to follow such as camera one starts with 1, camera 2 starts with 2 etc) and you will have to keep doing this every time which can be a pain in the ass, but as far as I know it's the only way to force a custom number system.

The 5D MK II did not have custom naming, the 5D MK III has two alternate naming options.
