I'd say that you've learned pretty well.  Nice pictures and composition.

The second one is a little over-post processed (you can see halos), and the fourth one could probably stand for some keystone correction. That being said, I love the composition and think they are very nice photos; well done!

Thanks

Composition of the pictures are quite good - However I think the sky and ground is too dark - it looks a little like you took them on cloudy day but then it is all blue and not one cloud in the sky... I would change that in pp but anyway it is a pretty good start ...
5D MKII, 5D MK III, 7D, Sigma 12-24 HSM2, Canon 17-40 F/4.0 L, Canon 24-70 F/2.8 L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8 IS II L , Ext x2 III + some other stuff

Agree about the halo'ing.

Composition is pretty good.  Lighting's a bit generic, though.  Dawn, dusk, and storms...that's where the interesting light is.  Or, use the harsh light from direct sun as a compositional element in the photo--either finding the high contrast between light and dark areas or using the hard shadows as a graphical element.

Next time, use a lens other than the 16-35. Try the 24-70 Mk II. Should help you discover what your subjects are.

I like the 16-35mm for national parks on a full frame camera.
5D mark 2, 16-35mm f/2.8, 17mm TS-E f/4, 85mm f/1.8, 300mm f/4 + 1.4x, 580 EX Flash
