slow sync flash on MkIII

anyone know how to set this up? .. never really used it but shooting some evening portraits outside so thought id figure it out.. google isnt of much help.

Set camera in M mode and slower shutter at rear curtain, open up the aperture and hihger iso-s.
1d X, 24-70 L II, 35 L, 50 L, 70-200 L II.

Menu->External Speedlite Control->Flash Function Settings->select the 3 triangles and press Set, then select the middle option.  User Manual pg. 194.
