I used to use hand straps but found they get in the way more than help if you try and shoot portrait
I just use rapid straps now

I have Canon E-1 handstraps on both of my bodies, and I really like them.
EOS 1D X, EOS M, and lots of lenses

also something to note is the cheap ebay copy of the genuine canon hand straps are really poor quality and the cord that comes with them is way too short even for small bodies let alone gripped bodies. so if you are keen on one I suggest just going with the genuine ones even though they are pricey for what they are.
