Looking for an light tripod for hiking
« on: May 12, 2012, 04:36:08 AM »
As I´m looking for an new backpack (my favourite is the F-stop satori exp by now (Much thanks for the tip!)) I´d like to buy a new tripod too.
More than one decade I´m using an Manfrotto 055C with the 268 head. But my scale counts more than 4,5 kg for it.
Can you give me some advice? (should be able to hold more than 6kg). lightweighted. easy to use.

Thanks

I bought a Sirui T-025 5-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod with C-10 Ball Head a couple of months ago.
It is very light and it did the job during my last trip.
The only thing is that it is not a "tall" tripod.

I have a Gitzo 1542 and it is truly awesome for hiking. Expensive but the size is amazing. I have the 2780QR head, whhich works really well. It holds my 7D and 70-200 2.8 perfectly. I've read that the Markins Q3T head is also a great head to use with the tripod.

FStop bags are great by the way. See a post I just made about my Loka:
