Holy crap... is this for real? I mean I could believe it taking pics after the submerging in water, but setting it on fire and it still works? This is truly insane. (And makes me really happy I own a 7D myself ;) )

Crazy video... good to know it doesn't need to be coddled ;-)

I got the 7D after killing my XSi by taking it out in a driving "mist" storm on the Oregon coast (shutter blew up... cost $200 to fix).  Decided it was time to upgrade to pro tools with some weather sealing.

I recently got a 70-200 f/4L IS... and after owning it for about 5 days I slung it out of my Lowepro backpack (thought it was zipped up) onto rocks.  It came out working just fine.  That lens is incredible by the way... definitely the best money I've spent so far on my photography hobby!

I've also killed my 17-55 f/2.8 IS in the last couple of months.  It had something go loose inside and ultimately the zoom ring seized up on it.  To replace it I'm getting a 16-35 f/2.8L that I'm hoping will be hardier.

Apparently I'm fairly hard on my photography gear!

I just gave that camera a big hug, then, moments later, I heard the shutter go off.
Thanks

Built like a tank. Thank you for sharing. Kai from digitalrev just needs to find a 5d Mark iii donor to pull extreme testing on now. Im curious now on what kind of abuse a 5D can take.

Only wish the 50 1.4 was better built. 2nd copy already through 2 rebuilds - and the focus ring is sticking again. Its the most fragile lens ive ever loved.  The 7D keeps on rocking (but started giving err 30s after humidity exposure in Dominican -  $300 to service.)

Did the same thing, almost, shouldering my (also Lowepro) bag the zipper simply flew open and spilled : 1D IV with 70-200 2.8 attatched, 16-35 2.8, 50 1.2, 24-70 2.8 and two 580 EX II's. Nothing happened. Nice.
