Canon 1D Mark III
« on: May 23, 2012, 05:23:08 PM »
We all know this camera 1D Mark III already discontinued but just wondering why Amazon still selling it for $7999 ?   http://www.amazon.com/Canon-1D-Mark-III-Digital/dp/B000NP1C5O   ???

Finally pulled the trigger on the 5D Mark III along with the new Tamron EF 24-70 f/2.8 VC.

My guess is to make money. That's probably why they sell anything they can.

It's okay. He pulled the trigger. Crook's dead now.

LOL for that much money I can get a 1DX.    I tried the 1D Mark III from a friend, absolutely a great camera.   Even the current 1Ds Mark III using the dual DIGIC III chip.

Good luck with your new camera-lens combo (definitely jealous)

Was curious about MkIII so checked Amazon this side of 'The Pond' and they have 1 in-stock (apparently more on the way??) and it is priced at £4,000 or approx. $6,250, a bit cheaper than the advert you saw over there but still a good bit more than your new 5D3

My guess is it's an old page that slipped through the cracks. Amazon is so huge. I wonder if you followed the "buy" prompts how quickly you'd reach the "no stock" popup.

If it's real, SHAME on them. 1Ds Mk3 bodies were going for less than this up until a couple of weeks ago

A number of retailers actually have the 1Ds MkIII in stock at a very similar price to the 1D X (and pretty much unchanged from when its demise was announced. Conversely, hardly any of them have the 1D MkIV listed, let alone having a price.
