Increase dynamic range
« on: May 29, 2012, 11:15:30 PM »
Hi all,

Lately, I have been taking a lot of photos in bad light with my 60D and ending up with blown out highlights.  In a search for a way to extract more dynamic range from my existing camera, I came across a video that explains how to grab extra DR through custom defined picture styles.  I posted the link below.  I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but I am thrilled to have found a potential solution beyond under exposing my shots 2/3 to 1 stop with the Standard setting.

In the post, he provides a link to this page: http://www.cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3401

The Cinema5D site photos are self-explanatory.  The superflat style appears to be exactly what I am looking for.  Several users have come up with other styles, e.g., Panavision, Velvia, etc., and provide links to their custom styles for others to download.

Does anyone have any other potential solutions?
