New T3i User - Should I return?

I just bought a T3i because I wasn't going to play the waiting game based on a rumour, no offense to the forum . But now the T4i is official. I purchased my T3i on 5-27 from a Las Vegas shop, B&C Camera. I know that I don't have the skill to use either camera, as it is my first DSLR. Mostly I miss the in camera HDR and night stills that my point and shoot had. The ability to combine multiple ISOs in camera, combined with DSLR quality would be amazing for night time photos and ironing out my lack of skill. I'll check if returns are still possible, but I also want to know if it's worth it. I'm new here but I really would like to know your views on it.

How long is the return policy and restocking?  If you have the extra money to no care about those things I personally would go for it.  Your for sure getting better AF which means a lot, image quality may also be better but we haven't seen any RAW samples yet and if you do plan on using the creative modes then T4i sounds like its for you.

Thanks for the response. It looks like I'm SOL. That's what I get for going to an actual camera shop instead of a big box store. My dad, who used to be into photography, thought it would be a good idea but it was wrong. Well, it's a bit of an expensive lesson but lesson learned.

I won't be to big of a difference be happy with your current camera. For a first DSLR it sure is a very good camera

In camera HDR = dont worry about it, it's pretty ordinary to say the least you may as well use an iphone and instagram if thats what you want to do. the T3i is a pretty deecent value for money little camera

its cheap and gives you a very nice rounded easier to read format than say reading the manual cover to cover
it'll help you get to grips with alot of important techniques pretty quickly

Don't worry about any of the in-camera stuff.  Learn to use RAW and do your post processing using a mac or pc.  The computer in your camera is pretty weak compared to a laptop or desktop, they can do a lot more powerful processing and that can mean cleaner and sharper images.
 
For me, a DSLR is about being creative, so avoid using the green box setting and learn to use AV, TV, and manual settings.
 
Learn to use aperture, lightroom, or the RAW processor of your choice.  Its pretty common for point and shoot users to have a letdown when the purchase a DSLR, there is a lot of difference, more than expected.  Put yourself in learning mode, and soon you will be doing things that you could never do before.

+1 ... in-camera processing is just a convenience if you want or need quick results - or if you're on the start of the learning curve and cannot do "real" postprocessing yet.

You can try the firmware addon "magic lantern" which (next to lots of other killer features) offers unlimited hdr shots, it can even change the iso instead of the time so you'll get less noise. With this and a software like Photomatrix, you'll blow any other aps-c/p&s camera out of the water
