Tamron need some more FF lenses...

At least two lenses that I can think of.

* A wide angle zoom, from 16-17mm to 28-40mm (not really worried about f-stop)
* A standard f/4 zoom from 24mm to 100 to 120mm (with IS)

With Tamron's current delivery, they'd have a 24-100-something that would retail for around $600 and be as good as or better than Canon's and also kick Canon in the pants with a wide angle that works.

I'm not much in favour of lenses wider than 16mm on full frame because they end up requiring a curved front element which introduces lots of other problems.

I am with you on this 24-100/120 F4 lens.

just a aftermarket version of the 24-105L and Nikkor 24-120 F4, which both retail @ $1k+

i don't mind sigma offering this lens too

i know some Sony Alpha guys are hoping for this lens too, so either Tamron or Sigma should make this lens for all mount, maybe except the 4/3

I would love such a lens!
Their 24-70mm VC at such a price was a market revolution, and I've been reading good reviews about it.
I would love to see a walkaround FF lens by Tamron or Sigma. If Sigma could make a FF version of their 17-70mm (a 24-110mm f/4.5 or something) I would be happy ever after. Usually I prefer Sigma glass over Tamron, but sometimes Tamron just nails "the right lenses".
But now Nikon's 24-85mm has spoiled the market a bit, unless it turns out to be very crappy.

If you look at the Nikon lenses MTF charts then you will see that it is awful at the edges. I don't even know why Nikon bothered unless it is a full frame lens in name but really meant for use with APS-C.

Their 24-120 is also awful at the edges when open any wider than f/8, and it costs more than 1000€. It's one of the few Nikon lenses that I really find heavily overpriced.

But standing things like this. it would have been a suicide for them to offer a better lens at 500€. Less zoom range is something most people would have laughed about.

Unfortunately though I still don't see any announcement by either Sigma or Tamron.
