Camera bag recommendations for compact travel?

I'm looking for a good camera bag that can hold a bunch of my essentials. I'm really trying to keep the size down, and it would help if the bag looked good too.

What I'd like to store:
- MacBook Air 13"
- MacBook power adapter w/ extra long power cable
- iPad w/ power adapter
- Kindle Touch
- Canon 60D w/ 15-85mm f/3.5-56 lens attached
- Canon 50mm f/1.4 prime lens
- 3x USB cables
- Portable hard drive

I just got a Kenko knockoff of the Billingham Hadley Pro (when I saw it in Samy's I thought it WAS the Billingham, but then I saw that it was only $80). It's pretty good all around, but it seems to be on the large size in terms of thickness. I'd rather have something that's a little slimmer if possible. I know that's a tough proposition given that DSLRs aren't exactly slim to begin with, and when you add in padding that makes them even thicker, but that's just my preference. If it's not possible to find a slim bag that can accommodate all of the above, then that's just something I'll have to live with.

Your best bet is probably to find a camera store with lots of bags and go in and check them out. I find bags are a very personal choice.

 That being said, I recommend the crumpler backpack bags.

The APE case 2000 Should hold all of that and more including a tripod and here in NYC can be gotten for around 100$, and if it matters to you it is made to look like any old student backpack, it does not scream EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT STEAL ME !!!

I have one of these Timbuktu Snoop Camera messenger bags that will hold everything you mentioned easily since I carry pretty much the same in mine daily.
I have the medium sized bag and it is not inexpensive but has a lot of great features.
