Interesting.  I know that lots of thin film battery research has been done, but this might even open up the way for things like tattooed on batteries.
 
Then you can easily have a microscopic implanted camera, and have a excuse (charging up) when you sit in the sun.
 
Or maybe just a built-in AF-Assist light ;)

It's already easy to see how old-fashoned I will appear to my kids when they are in college or young adults.  Stuff like this now seems to appear more regularly, escaping my notice entirely.
