I went from 7d to 5d III and my advise is to invest in the 5d III as you'll likely keep that body for many years to come. Invest in good glass as and when you can afford it. You'll continue to learn (like the rest of us) with the added advantage of a very powerful tool this body is.

I do not miss the pop up flash as I hardly ever used it on the 7d - preferring my speedlite when required.

As said before, EF24-105 I've very good value when purchased as a kit - go for it.

Good luck

Hello. Thank you all for all your advice. I have decided to go for the 7d as this only cost me £350 on top of selling my 50d. I still believe I have a lot to learn. This has allowed me to spend the remainder of my money on some really good lenses. I have just purchases 24mm -105mm ef L lens and the 100mm ef L macro lens and I still have money left to get myself a good quality Telephoto lens. Then next year when I believe I am ready I will upgrade to a FF and then I will have some fantastic lenses to go with a Fantastic camera
