Canon Mirrorless Body Style - which style do you prefer?

The reason I created this poll:

so you can not even say how many people would prefer a classic look.

the SX1 is no beauty.. but then i find angelina jolie not that sexy either.

Who cares how they look?  You aren't taking pictures of them, you're taking pictures with them.

I hated using my AE-1 - rotten ergonomics.  Much better with an actual grip.

* generally "rangefinder style" with viewfinder on the left side not in the middle like DSLRs
* not stupid "retro" design like Fuji, Pen or OM-D. More like Leica M9, but smaller in size ... like a Leica X1/X2 or Minolta CLE
* Ergonomic layout similar to a 7D/5D III with Canon-Thumbwheel on the back plus a second front wheel plus a mode dial with 3 C-settings and back-AF button and AE-lock button.
* no top LCD, but the usual 4 buttons for everything from ISO to AF to Drive speed.
* no pop-up flash, but rather a built in Canon-RT system ETTL radio wireless transceiver to control 600EX-RT and future RT-speedlites. 
* Magnesium-alloy or titanium shell, fully weathersealed - at least 7D level.   

Now, how do I vote for that?

Classic is closest:

• Rangefinder-type thin form factor
• Buttons for all major exposure controls, with at least two manual dials
• pop-up flash for fill

I would also like built in radio master, but am not expecting to see it. Also, not expecting to see two dials, just one. Flash presence could go either way. Oh well.

Of course people care how it looks..  Do you care how your car looks? Or do you just care that it takes you places?

Look at the success of the X100..  what caught peoples' attention first, was its looks..

This looks awesome! now only IF canon can remake the 50mm 0.95 dream machine from the 60's.

I think classic is the best but it might depend on the target group. Frankly speaking I'm not sure who this product will be targeted for. Nor specs or price are published yet. On their place I'd make classic design (like Leica) but only with FF and high specs. If specs and price would be lower like Rebel line, then SX1 style could be better.

i really like the retro classic look

I have several interests in the mirrorless

1) slimmer cam for a 3rd camera on a neck strap so say shooting a wedding i could have 2 dslrs with large lenses on a double rapid strap a smaller lighter weight mirrorless with a small lens on a neck strap would be handy

2) when traveling its small to be a backup / extender for extra reach (if it is the 1.85 crop its gonna make the 70-200 f2.8L into a really long range weapon not to mention sticking it on my 600!
also the 1.85 crop would make my 20mm voightlander 37mm which rolls nicely onto point number 3

3) for street photography the retro form is nice too

I would be impressed with

• Classic style body
• All metal
• Minimalistic
• Two dials, a couple buttons
• Small, very compact
• No fake rangefinder sight, just live view
• Hot shoe, no pop up cheesy flash
• Good sensor
• Adaptor for existing lenses
• More high quality lenses like the shorty forty

Sadly I don't expect that much creativity. If it was, or close, I'd get one. Otherwise no interesting in carrying around more batteries and charger.

I would like a small camera with high IQ upto ISO 3200 with lenses with 1.2 or 1.4 f. Full manuel control. Not too complicated. FAST FOCUST AND SHUTTER LAG.

It's rare to make a good  photo with the built in flash. I'd see it useful almost only in two cases: with bright light behind the subject or in the evening at the beach
And in other cases - better be bad than nothing

I'd like a *real* rangefinder type camera as I prefer an optical viewfinder, the only thing that worries me about that is the parallax, esp with adapted lensed (FD mount??)

totally agree. Also useful for dinners out and kids birthdays...
