bornshooter, that's great news and I'll guarantee you won't regret this purchase, not a chance!  It's so hand-holdable and fun as opposed to a struggle.

Jack
I hope i don't bit of a hit on the wallet but from what i have seen people do with it looks worth the cost and hopefully i will soon forget about the cost :)

Gary,

Get or use a three or four stop ND filter, with that amount you can still AF and see through the viewfinder but you get your lights into a more controllable power range.
Too often we lose sight of the fact that photography is about capturing light, if we have the ability to take control of that light then we grow exponentially as photographers. More often than not the image is not about lens speed, sensor size, DR, MP's or AF, it is about the light.

Ordered my 1st big white today, its the baby one though the 300 2.8 L 2 :) super excited also ordered the 2x extender as the results i have seen from that are impressive.

Congrats Bornshooter, it's arguably the sharpest Lens I feel Canon make, don't go many places without mine, incredibly good with the 1.4x, it's the only Lens I use the 2x on, still good results with the 2x.

bornshooter, that's great news and I'll guarantee you won't regret this purchase, not a chance!  It's so hand-holdable and fun as opposed to a struggle.

Jack

Jack is sort of right, in my own hopeless experience the 200f/2 leads to the 300f/2.8 leads to the 500f/4 or 600f/4 leads to the 200-400f/4, you get the picture. I'm now considering seriously the Phase One IQ250, only thing holding me back is I know as soon as I buy it Canon will release a 1Dxs with 45MP sensor that shoots @ 4fps, then I'de shoot myself.
