Nice shot Gary...thanks for stating what AF case you used.  I am heading to Florida next week...too cold in Canada.
Hopefully will have a good opportunity to photograph bald eagles and horned owls at Punta Gorda. I'm going to try
case 6, as you having taken some awesome pictures with this setting.

Nortstar has it, Place called Jigokudani about 5 hours drive North of Tokyo, hike around 3 Klms into the Mountains to a Hot Springs that the local Macaques have learnt to use to keep warm in the Winters of Northern Japan, the day we visited it was snowing & - 10F, although caretakers throw Grain out in the surrounding area so the Monkeys are able to forage, there is no other attempt to domesticate, these are wild Monkeys. Having said that you can get amazingly close to them, they pretty well ignore us Humans as long as you don't touch them or maintain direct eye contact, worth a visit if your ever in Japan, especially in the winter.

Isn't that the place where sometimes a macaque will be kicked out and has to freeze? Seriously, that made me sad. I think I saw a doco on it. Great shot though.

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy doing the kicking ended up on his back after attempting that kick. Jumping with both feet is not the most stable of positions.

Incidentally, who won? My money is on the guy with his two feet planted firmly on the ground.

It was the guy who was flying that won on points on the 12th round he was defending his world title wka bantamweight,there was a clash of styles so wasn't the most exciting fight..still the 1dx got a good workout

going by your settings that is not very low lighting,great shot though..

Wrong settings.  I had to change to ISO 5000 in that end of the pool for the next shots.  I had to raise exposure in post, which I don't like to do much, especially when I come home with 600-800 shots .

Wow! This "wow" is for the content of the picture. As usual your pics are - to put it mildly - FANTASTIC. This one is too. But there is more to it than that. Let me explain...

• Look at the rock that the cat is standing on
• Look at the cat
• Look at the colors on the cat
• Look at the colors on the rock
• Look at the pattern of colors on the cat (pattern and banding are not bad words sorry - could not help it...)
• Look at the pattern of colors on the rock
• Now that is camouflage!
• That took several hundreds of thousands of years to refine
• My ZERO c are "look at the real picture" DR vs survival, DR looses big time...
