CHP Golf-2 by PVC 2012, on Flickr
I went back and found another shot, this time at f4 with the 70-200 2.8 II.
Is this more pleasing? I originally thought this looked a little "busy", whereas at f 1.6, I thought it was more "dreamy".
At my event in Oct, I will be able to sell my images (donating the proceeds back to the charity though), so which "LOOK" do you think would generate more interest?? I will only get each foursome (player) hitting off of one tee so I need to get it right the first and only time. Which is preferable ??
i think you're on the right track now...slightly smaller aperture, maybe f4 like you said so you get some bokeh and some feel for the hole the golfer is playing. maybe a little better composition and you have it.
here's a couple i recently took at a tournament.
in the first, i could've shot at a wider aperture to get better bokeh...this is a good situation for that dreamy look..I like this angle because you get to see the golfer's face better.
in the second - this is what i was originally referencing. you can see the golfer, the ball, and the layout of the hole/challenge that the golfer is facing on the shot.
also...i'd like to see some of those shots from your Oct event...please consider posting a couple here when you're done.
edit...i just realized i posted some 5d3 shots in a 1dx post...sorry.
