Maybe hes so skinny its not worth to be eaten even by a starving coyote :P How does the 200mm f2 handle? It looks so bulky to me. Is it possible to freehand it?

Is it just me or do gary's shots of these animals on the previous pages just don't look "THAT" awesome. They seem grainy, a bit blurry here and there and the bokeh is just not beautiful. Compared to other shots posted here, these look more like rebel than 1dx. No offense, but I really want to know what's wrong cause that is not what you await from a $13000 setup (1dx+200mm 2.0)

You are correct that there are many photogs who have also shown amazing examples of their work. To me, photographs are an art form. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and to each their own. Some people like Picasso or Monet or Gauguin or Chagall or van Gogh and others dislike these same artists' works. But I wouldn't go to an art museum and proclaim that Picasso was a terrible artist because his paintings didn't look sharp. I enjoy Gary's photos for their artistic impact through my eyes. Since I am an amateur, I couldn't really comment on the technical aspects.

There are many aspects to producing an image, from capture to final product. Some of what you describe is down to subject separation and distance to the background. If the animal is in a gulley, then even an f/2 lens with perfect bokeh characteristics (whatever that may be - it will be different for everyone) is going to struggle to get a smooth background. Once you've captured the image, then you have to make processing choices and each person will make slightly different choices. Gary's choices are different to mine, so while I can applaud the capture, they don't grab my attention quite as much as if processed differently. That said, I tend to process an image so that it is the same as what I remember (bearing in mind that memory can sometimes be flawed) and only Gary knows how the image should look. The expertise when it comes to wildlife is more in the ability to capture an image, as you can adjust an image accordingly in post processing to any taste you like (within reason of course). That ability mostly is down to the photographer and not the camera/lens combination, at least within the limitations of the combination. I would rather applaud the capture than the choices made in processing.

Love the 1DX.

Low light, fast movement with excellent tracking!  This was shot jpg at ISO 4000 1/1250s at a very thin 200 f/2.  No noise reduction.

Wonderful tracking, Amazing Bokeh, Great shot.

While I lust for a super tele like Gary's .... the shots that I want to take are often what I see of the 200 F2....  such an amazing lens...
