Here's a shot from yesterday. Bear Cub in Cottonwood Tree: 1D X, 500mm L II, ISO 1600, f8 @ 1/250 sec.

Very cute! Where is Momma Bear? I don't understand why you don't have gnaw marks on your ankles with all these cub shots!  ;)

Have you been around them so much they accept you?

Several friends and I have been following them since the end of September. And yes, you still have to be aware of where mom is.

And, sometimes if you are lucky you run into one of theses: This was a total grab shot. The camera was set at ISO 3200 expecting to find the bear cubs back in the shadows. We came around corner and found this big male Coyote. I barley had time to set the tripod legs and got off a few frames. 1D X, 500mm L II, ISO 3200, f6.3 @ 1/2500 sec.

I shot some HS Hockey with my new 1DX...I'm impressed.  Here are a couple photos.

Shot through the "glass", which I figure costs me about a 1/2 stop.

Settings
manual
3200 ISO
800 shutter
2.8

Lovely shots. I love it that you can see the eyes following the puck. And the expressions...
