What PP did you do on them?
Hey guys. This isn't meant to be "one of my best" but I wanted to share a nasty situation with you guys. I had to finally shoot at ISO 12,800 in a dimly lit fluorescent gym, finally one of the worst situations I could think of. I'll post the photo here. My analysis is that the faces blur faster away from the focus point and the colors vary much more throughout the different faces in the crowd, and seems "warmer" despite lowering color temp drastically in post to around 3100. Overall though, I think the 1DX did an okay job. Specs are 1/500, f/2.8, ISO 12,800 at around 130mm with a 70-200 f/2.8L II IS lens.
I should have reduced the shutter, but I only had two quarters of the game to shoot before I had to hurry home and send my photos to the News Journal. So this shot was in the heat of the game, and with CWA ISO 12,800 showed an even (0 EV) exposure. Now, what I would have done, is lower that shutter in half or even to 1/100s and the ISO would have been way lower. This is why I have since changed my shooting mode to "faux M" so that I can do this more easily and more quckly. Hey, you learn right? .

Still a bit "dark" for my tastes, but what can one do when noise will begin dominating? 1/500, f/2.2, ISO 4000.wonderful Action shot nice and sharp
