What a beautiful picture! Well done!
And I feel guilty picking just one out for praise but Gary, your pictures of eagles are stunning too. I especially like that last one (and thanks for posting the AF case you used).
This thread is definitely not good for my wallet as it definitely makes one yearn for some super teles! ;-)
1D X + backup + different L lenses etc.
Not to be redundant but these images are great! I suspect that the camera may have helped but it was the person behind the lens that made it work!!!
I have a quick question for all you 1Dx users. I just got my CPS rental and fallen in love with it, after the two weeks I plan on buying one. Do you use L-plates with yours or not?
I had the same feelings. Thanks PBD!
Yes, though not always. And the new modular style RRS L-Plate is, to me, well worth the money. It might cost a bit more but in the context of the camera is not that much, however I buy L-Plates and regular body plates for my most used bodies and the new design covers both so actually saves me money.
+1, love the RRS modular L-plate for the 1D X, especially since the Allen key stores in the plate.

case 1 I have tried most of the case settings haven't had any that gave me a bad time I use mostly 1&6
I kid you not living in Utah you need all the glass you can get the 600mm is the best thing I have done but I had to get a big ass tripod & Wimberley II head but now that the pain is gone I smile every time I go shoot
Very nice.. Been considering a longer tele for a bit now. I live in Nevada and after seeing all your stuff I reaaaaly want to start shooting wildlife!
You can really push 1DX files in post when you are an idiot like me and need to
