Any Thing shot with a 1Dx

I set it by hand I don't want to look down and see some crazy# on a important shot   I don't give any more then I need the 1Dx has put me in to f/ stop's  I never have  seen before shooting wild life all happens late and early so I was always shooting wide open or near it . but now I see f/7's 9s 10s  I'm watching the speed   if I have some to spare I close the Len a little bit or back down the iso  hope this helps

I agree....In some environments the auto iso makes sense, but when you take a great shot and the auto iso gives you some "crazy number" that ruins your exposure....well, you only have to have that happen a couple times before you stop using it.   Especially for wildlife or sports where that moment is lost.

it is important to learn to watch the dash board on the camera thats hard to do in combat shooting.

I have only had my 1D X a few days now but covered a major event just a few hours after getting it and was surprised by the movement of the auto ISO. I think I will definitely be setting it manually in future to see what happens. Amazing camera though, and your shots of those eagles are stunning, Gary.

Thanks,  To get this effect, my Wimberley head is mounted to a board that is fastened to the back seat of my row boat enabling the lens to be about a foot from the surface of the water.  A right angle finder is used so I'm looking down vertically.  I find rotating the boat with an oar an easier method of tracking motion compared to rotating the Wimberley head.   Raising the lens up by even a foot really alters the perspective in a negative way.

The cropped one of course.  I had two games to shoot, each with about 80 photos and had a deadline to hit for photo gallery.  I'd love to sit and go through some of my shots and do a lot of post-processing.  That photo is 72 ppi for the newspaper.  I would like to go back to the raw shot, and process at 240ppi and do some pp.  Thanks.

Did some testing of the 1DX in blowing and/or reflecting snow.  Even with the temperamental 85L, the 1DX focus was fast and spot on!  Some blue sky, white snow f/11 shots were easy as well with the 1DX.  Love this camera.
