I very seldom do any B&W images, and I'm bored so I thought I have a go, I usually throw out my idea of "correct" exposure and stuff when doing b6w, more fun that way.

Shot with the 200 @ f2

Nicely done Viggo, this little Guy doesn't look to be having Fun, much   ;D

Thanks! No, he really hates having his picture taken, lol.

Gary, there is no serious talk of "banning you", it's just kidding around about how great your shots are.  I'm a beginner and there is lots of inspiration that comes from viewing the best of the best (your eagles brought me to CR initially).  Keep posting in the wildlife threads! ;)

So far I like CR and in particular the wildlife threads because I think we're all just ordinary decent folk who love life especially as represented in nature.  We also like to joke around all in good fun.  A little humor is good for the soul.  I'm sure I'm speaking for the vast majority.

Gary...so true.  The 80/20 rule applies.   We (the 80), just need to do our best to ignore the 20.

Northstar, you nailed it.  Nothing more to add.  It really irks me when the 20 take over (actually it's probably more like 5 or less).

Love reinvented with a second 17-40, had it years ago on the 1d3, but surprised it's this superb on Fullframe , what a gem!

And shot is lit by Quadra through 70 Octa. With the kids there isn't time to measure light or even choose an angle, I just have to throw the lamp to the side and hope my "wing every setting by hunch" works well enough, I only get ONE chance. And today the sun was out for the second time since Christmas!

Thanks Gary, it was different that's for sure, getting in the final few frames and getting out of the way quickly was the order of the day.

A Chinese Photographer miss timed it, his D4 + 800f/5.6 Lens went under the hooves, fortunately the Photographer was only bruised, his gear was a write off, what didn't get flattened ended up in a foot of mud & water, I guess the Bulls didn't like Nikons.

The attached Portrait was the days winner, he more than any of the others ran the bulls right to the end, when I spoke to him later he laughed and said his whole day was about seeing which Photographer would run last, he thought it was funny that the locals had more sense, they ran first.

Stunning images Edward! The speed, sound, splash, mud and excitement can really be felt.

Poor Chinese though. But I suppose, when you provoke the bulls with a Nikon rig, you only have yourself to blame ...  ::)

wow, reminded me of Hemingway's quote that goes something like this "There are only three true sports - bullfighting, mountain climbing, and motorsports. The rest are merely games."

However, given how I sometimes worry about my gear, shooting with expensive stuff like 1Dx & 200-400f/4, D4 & 800f/5.6... in Sumatran mud and water, with bulls running around... must be an adrenaline sport on its own ;)
