I just tried this and it says my email address isn't eligible for this discount.  Any idea how your are able to get it?

You do need to have a account with newegg.  Create a account, and it should work once the account is registered.
I just bought a 16-35mm L

I already had an account and I even just tried to "subscribe" to their promo emails.  I was ready to spring for the 70-200 f/2.8II :(

Chris, I apologize, the fine print in the e-mail says the deal is not transferable and only good for my account.  I had to log in before it would let me use the code, but I did not think it was actually linked to one account.
Thats a bummer.
