I wonder if it's a temporary thing, like we had here in the states the previous 2 or 3 weeks.

From what I see in stores this is not a MSRP price drop but rather a sale. Some stores show it as a sale and others show a $200 instant rebate. THis is a good trend. I wonder if this is just a coinsidence, but a couple of days ago Canadian stores got D800 in stock at $3K. I can pick it up from two locations right now. As i said before - availability of D800 might become the most important factor in bringing Canon's prices to senses.  Or maybe its just my letter to Canon Canada a few days ago where I showed my disgust with diffeence in pricing policy for US and Canada comparing to Nikon (Nikon's prices are the same while Canon has $200-300 difference)  ;D

The Camera Store in Calgary shows -$200 rebate which is valid for the whole month of August. So this is not a short sale like on B&H. This is great!

Half Way To Nothing:
My wife is going to Canada in a few weeks and might be able to get this for me as it's a lot cheaper then the UK. Would there be a local sales tax on-top of this price?
