I really hope this is not the case - especially for the AF. Compared to Nikon, Canon is notorious for its unwillingness to put the more power AF abilities in its lower and mid range models. When D300 had the 51 AF points already, there's a lot of people asking why can't the 50D have it.
Fortunately, the 19 AF points on the 7D did help to alleviate fears.
But now... 9 AF points with the 60D while D90 replacement is getting 39?
