Can you do HDR images with Aperture?

I've been wanting to play with HDR...and all the tutorials I see on Youtube seem to all be done with Photoshop...

Can you put your HDR images together with Aperture?
If not, is there any other tool you can use to do HDR on an apple that doesn't cost an arm and a leg like Photoshop?

I bought the photomatix plug-in for aperture for HDR. It has a few pre-sets that you can tweak - works well for me.

I organize in Aperture, but I export full resolution 16 bit tiff files and do my HDRs in either Photomatix or ptgui.

Before export, I make sure I've set the same white balance to all the files in case I was being stupid and had the camera on AWB.
