EOS 7D, EF 85mm f/1.2L II, 1/1600 s, f/6.3, ISO 2000

Still, the grackle was pretty far away - the 85L doesn't do very well with close, erratically-moving subjects, even if they're not moving too fast.  The body you use makes a difference, too.  The 7D will track moving subjects better than the 5DII, even with a comparitively slow lens like the 85L.  A 1-series body would do even better.

Very nice capture indeed, not surprised it was with you 7D...the 5DmkII is great for a lot of things, birds in flight I imagine just wouldn't be one of them....

Really nice portraits, great DOF and you've kept the images simple, just the focus on (parts of sometimes) your subjecst. I really like them.

Ok granted my setup is not all that enchanting here but everytime I pick up my 85mm for a few shots I am always amazed how good this lens is... :D

My model here is 22 month old and this was shot at f3.2, ISO 400 with a flash...
