Anyone else preorder the EOS M yet?

I don't plan on buying this version.  It doesn't make any sense to me other than as yet another P&S and, in that light, I'd probably buy one before a G1 X.

The EF adapter is really odd for a camera with no viewfinder or even an option of an add-on viewfinder.  By the time you add the adapter plus an EF lens, it would be very unbalanced with most of the lenses and certainly awkward to hold out in front of you to shoot with.  If you're wagging a tripod with you, you might as well have a normal DSLR.  A T4i makes more sense to me if lightweight is you goal.

The first EOS M is more of a step up for people that have progressed to the point of wanting better image quality than their cell phone can deliver...

I did. Just got a Sony Nex F3 but will sell it when the Canon come's out. It will be a great camera for the wife and keep her used to Canon menu's when she uses my 5d3. Also I like that I can mount my L Lenses. I always thought that sensor is decent under 1600 iso but with the digic 5 may be good at 3200. Either way I cannot stand the Sony optics and menu system. The way the NR is too much just softens out all the fine details and when the wife uses it constantly wants to shoot at iso 3200. At least the Canon comes with the f2 prime and I can mount the tamrom 17-50 2.8 if I need to for a light weight travel rig. I also like that I can add a 70-200 to my kit and if my 5d3 is not reaching it then the crop of the eos-m should give me a little more. Finally I figure I will get the pro version whenever that comes out also. That was my reason. Hope it helps. Plus you can use your speedlites on it.

Oh man. Just had a chance to play around with the T4i live view mode. There were times I had to wait up to FIVE (!!!) seconds for the camera to lock focus. I'd think Canon would at least try to speed things up a bit for a camera system purely dependent on this focus scheme...because otherwise I'm not sure how useful this camera would be (if at all).
