Alina - At the Park in Simferopol

I met Alina in Simferopol when I visited Ukraine. She saw my camera and asked if I was any good at portraits. I said, "No, but I try real hard!" She said she wanted to send some new photos to her ailing grandmother in Russia. How do you say no to a pretty lady with a story like that? We walked to a nearby park and caught the last 30 minutes of sunlight. These were a few of her favorites - I hope grandma was happy!

The contrast is too high to my taste, in other areas – just continue to improve what you currently do  :)

I probably overcooked it in DPP... I'm really a rookie when it comes to digital processing... This one is SOOC RAW, highlights pulled down, contrast one notch lower, minimal sharpening... Better?

The dark and middle tones look much better. Highlights are to dark to my taste. Might be a reason to calibrate your monitor  :)

Highlights could be pulled down just one step. IMO color saturation could be pulled down with 10%.

Thanks! The monitor is calibrated - but it's a $100 Acer... I'm working in Afghanistan and I don't have any high-dollar stuff over here... So I can't set a color temp or white point on it...
