7D Dead/Hot Pixel Issues

I have two 7D's that I have had a few red pixel issues with. In the past they have remapped via the long manual sensor clean method, but now I have found one or two small, white X's on my images with a black/dark background, and I'm wondering what that is. Are they also dead pixels?

Im not sure what it might be, but if you post a crop of a pic containing the problem I'm sure another member will give you a cause, a reason, and a scientific explanation, these guys are great!

Posting the original unmodified would help you get some valid answers.  You may get some guesses based on someones assumption of what you are seeing, but the best answers will come from someone who can see it.
I have a couple of guesses, but i'll refrain from posting uneducated guesses.

I think that this 100% crop of an image of the night sky may show the same issue... Just left of centre of the image about half way up you can see what looks to be a white cross. Zooming past 100% and it appears to be a white pixel which has 'bled out' into surrounding pixels. There is another smaller anomaly above and to the left again.
