EF 24-70 f/2.8L II To Start Shipping Tomorrow in the USA & Canada

From B&H Photo & Adorama

Both B&H Photo & Adorama have told us that they expect to begin shipping the new EF 24-70 f/2.8L II on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Initial stock will be pretty good, however I am not expecting all preorders to be filled.

I placed my pre-order with B&H on 2/12/12 - hopefully that is early enough to be in the first batch.

I just spoke with Adorama and they expect to start shipping pre-orders to customers next week. 

I had paid for faster shipping so hopefully I'll be receiving it next week..... would be great if it was earlier.

Non-CPS dealers have started shipping this lens and 5D3 kit from today/Monday in Australia.

I pre-ordered from B&H one month ago so I probably have little chance of catching the first wave of deliveries.  This is the same scenario I had with the 5D3 in the Spring.  However I was able to cancel my pre-order when a fellow forum member mentioned 5D3s were available on the West coast - so if you find availability please share.

I just received a shipping notification from B&H.  Scheduled delivery is on Wed.  Very excited!

Ok....who wants to get rid of their mk1 version? I'm interested if you're will to let it go for a good price. Remember, the market is probably going to start getting a lot of those lenses out there ;)

Shipping tomorrow... so much for what the agent told me this morning... B&H has been great over the years (particularly this last year...), just get some strange "misunderstandings" of what's really going on sometimes...
