EOS Utility 2.11.4 & OS X 10.7.4

EOS Utility 2.11.4 & OS X 10.7.4 on my MBP is proving to be a very flaky combination, crashing several times a day tethered to my 5D3. It crashes, freezes and today needed three force quits followed by a full shutdown/restart each time. It's really tedious for myself & my thankfully patient clients.

The high quality USB cable is firm at each end and is helped by a velcroed loop at the camera/tripod end to make accidental unplugging impossible. Is it just me?

Is anyone aware of viable alternative tethering software that has a proven stability track record on OS X 10.7?

Hey, i've had some problems as well with my 5dm3
I'm on 10.8.1 and practically no tethering works there, not even eos utility.

I'm tethering trough Aperture and then auto import the pictures into lightroom. Not perfect, but the only option at the moment for me.
