OT: How to get street photos to look Tastino-style???
« on: September 15, 2012, 01:20:31 AM »
The guy doesn't want to share his techniques, and we'll grant him his wishes. Any links to resources that give a tutorial to achieve that 16:9, cinematic feel to street photos?

TIA

Not sure what exactly you are referring to. Could you post some examples?

How about just cropping them to 16:9?

Tastino is great, but why mimic? Find your own style.

I think that bothers my the most about photography websites.  Not to pick on the OP or say something that hasn't been said before, but the "young/inexperienced" photographers who come here and ask, "...shooting my first wedding this wedding, any suggestions?" or "Have $10000 to spend, what to buy?"  What happened to finding the answers yourself, experimenting, developing you own style, honing your skills, trial and error?

OMG... I have been a bitter old man.

Nothing wrong with playing with other peoples styles...  it is the first step of finding your own unique style! experiment with a style you like until you find what suits your taste!

Tastino shots have a great feel... Making me think of playing with uniform cropping a bit... :)

In this case, I think the OP was just wanting to know the PP technique used...  which is part of experimenting...  standing on the shoulder of giants and all that!

Hi there,

Here's one of the show-cases I can recommend you:
Цвет наше всё... Выпуск 52... Крем (тонирование) Small | Large
You can download RAW file by this link: http://yadi.sk/d/pX5gw6QcsG7O

Here's another one:
Цвет наше всё... Выпуск 43... Кино тонировка Small | Large

Personally I don't like this style, but it can help you to find your own.

P.S. Sorry for Russian in the lessons, not sure I can find English equivalents.
