Match made in heaven

Being in Australia, I was one of the few lucky ones to pick up my 1DX on 4th July. My long awaited pre-ordered 20~70mm L 2.8 II arrived 1st September. Paired up, I consider I have the sharpest of the sharp, both with lens and camera. Simply the best from Canon

I think you've described it perfectly.
Congratulations on having the pinnacle of photographic technology (35mm equiv. anyway), and many years of outstanding images to you!

For DB. a few more recent images from my IDX + 20~70mm. Photographs captured in Yeppoon, Central Queensland Aust. After working the world in TV media (cammo) I can honestly say...paradise found!
Kind regards, Outback

Nice. I'm hoping to have the 'low-rent' version of this combo by December 5DmkIII + Tamron 24-70.
With the combo you have there, you should be getting some killer low-light photos . . .

Yeah, that sight would make me run . . . run so far away.

Fabulous shots. I particularly like the flock of seagulls on the beach, great clarity and nice shadows on the sand.
The blue sky looks like you used a grad filter on it, or was that darker at the top done is post? Amazing color!

The only filter used on sea gulls was a circular PL filter. We at the moment have stunning blue skies and weather (May-Sept) before we hit the buildup to our wet and cyclone season... I tend to use a PL on most coastal and aerial work here over water. Aerial pics attached: Corio Bay - Great Keppel Island 1DX + 17~40mm L 1:4
