1D X - Memory Cards best burstrate with Lexar and Transcend Cards 400X and 300X

Just wondering if you guys own these cards, I do and wondering if they will hold up under a long burst rate with out a stutter.

I use Sandisk Extreme Pro and never had any problems with burst up to 50 consecutive shots or more.

You have a 1D X...   Spend a couple of hundred dollars and buy Lexar 1000x cards.  ...or even 600X

The other brands have fast cards also, but I recommend Lexar.

Is this a Lexar stockholder reunion or what's up?

If two cards are rated at the same specs, what would be the reason to buy Lexar, if you can get a fully equivalent product from Sandisk for a better price? If Lexar is cheaper, I don't mind buying Lexar, but as long as Sandisk offers for a better price, I am buying theirs. If prices are equal, I won't care either way.

Lexar was cheaper for me.  Just bought six more 16GB 1000X cards.  They also work better for me as several of my Sandisk cards have died (and lost images) but the Lexar cards have worked perfectly.  Your mileage may vary but the price was cheaper.

Well, I have never lost any images on Sandisk cards. Losing images on either brand cards would be a game changer for me.

I use primarily SanDisk for CF cards, and lexar for SD cards... don't ask me why, Lexar probably had less expensive SD cards at the time.

But what's everyone's opinion on the SanDisk vs. Lexar debate?  I'm obviously pretty indifferent, but if more people have had bad experiences with SanDisk, or vice versa, then the 32gb CF card I'll be buying in the next couple weeks might come from the winner of this discussion.  Especially since my purchase is motivated by a vacation in which I won't be bringing a laptop for transferring photos off my cards -- hence the additional storage.

I have 4 Transcend 600x CF cards, 2- 16gbs and 2- 8gbs. One of the 8gbs was bad. One out of every 10 images or so would be corrupted.

I've had great luck with the other 3 but I'll probably be springing for Sandisk or Lexar next time.

lol.  25% card failure rate isn't exactly what I'd call "great luck".  ;-)

Take a look a Rob Galbraith's CF database.

Example;

5d mk3.   Top 11 spots have 7 Lexar cards and 4 Sandisk cards.

There are two choices in cards.  ...and given a choice between those two choices, I would always choose Lexar.

Thanks guys  i'm at my budget limit this week to get the body on its way to me.  Just want to know what result the   Lexar 300x and 400x will perform like in that 1D X body.


Knowing now will allow me to realized i need a  few new cards or not thanks!

I agree which is why I switched to Lexar.  Technology will always change.  What works in our cameras today may not work well in our new cameras tomorrow so I'm sure I will be using something different in a few years.

I used to only use Sandisk for all my storage, without a problem.  But, recently with the new 1000x Lexar prices, I've switched.  I should be getting my 2-pack later this week.
